The Crossways – Office Addition
This project involved the construction of a 42,000 sf addition to an existing 1.2 million sf mixed used project. Two floors of commercial office space were added to the roof of the existing complex with associated interior alterations required to connect the new space to the existing retail mall. New elevators and extended exit stairs were threaded through the existing building to service the new office space. Additional special construction was utilized to improve vibration isolation for the addition from the adjacent railway corridor along the east face. A steel structural system was used to create open floors areas with a column spacing of 40′.
